Baked Brie in Puff Pastry with Raspberry Jam is brie topped with raspberry jam and baked in a puff pastry. Serve with crackers.
If you’re looking for a simple appetizer that doesn’t look easy, you’ve hit pay dirt. Here it is.
Brie has such a mild flavor, it needs help from friends. In this case, puff pastry and raspberry jam step forward.
Substitute anything you’d like for the jam: another flavor of jam, honey and nuts, etc.
If you’re inclined to make your own puff pastry, then God bless your sweet lovin’ heart. I use Pepperidge Farm and don’t think twice about it. The product is consistently good.
This isn’t a sponsored post. Pepperidge Farm didn’t pay me to write this post . They don’t know me from Adam’s house cat.
Using a pretty pie plate to bake the brie serves two purposes. For one, well….you’ve got to use something. You can’t put it directly on the oven racks.
Secondly, it becomes the serving dish. Slice the cheese right in the dish and don’t worry about transferring it. There’s room in the pie plate to add crackers, too. This is a good idea!
Sometimes my good ideas work out and sometimes I’m humbled.
To make this appetizer extra special, considering substituting store bought raspberry jam with your homemade Raspberry Jam .

Baked Brie in Puff Pastry with Raspberry Jam
preheat oven to 400 degrees
yield: 8 to 10 appetizer servings
An easy, yet elegant appetizer. A wheel of brie is topped with raspberry jam and baked in puff pastry.
1 frozen puff pastry
8 ounce wheel of brie
2 tablespoons raspberry jam
1 egg
1 teaspoon water
salt and pepper
Thaw puff pastry at room temperature for 20 minutes. Unwrap pastry and place on a lightly floured surface. Roll pastry to roughly 11 by 11 inches. You don’t need to be exact.
Remove the silver skin from the top of the brie. Place in the center of the puff pastry.
Add raspberry jam to the top of the brie.
Bring up the corners of the brie to the center over the brie. Gather up all sides of the pastry and gently twist to form a bag-looking kind of a thing.
That’s about as fancy as I get.
Place the whole thing in the center of a pretty pie plate which will become the serving dish.
Add egg and water to a small bowl and beat with fork. Brush pastry with egg wash. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 35 minutes or until pastry is nicely browned.
Remove from oven. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
Serve with crackers.
