Southerners are famous for their love of good food. Many of us wait all year long for the day in November when we give thanks for our many blessings and fill our tables, sideboards, and counters with favorite dishes. We celebrate and give thanks for family, our heritage and our food.
I got together with two of my Southern food writer sisters and put together some of the dishes on our Thanksgiving menus to share with you, our beloved readers. Mary Foreman is the author of the blog Deep South Dish and the cookbook Deep South Dish: Homestyle Southern Recipes. Melissa Sperka’s blog is Melissa’s Southern Style Kitchen and her cookbook, Family Favorites from Melissa’s Southern Style Kitchen: Keeping Traditions Alive, will be released Spring 2016.
We invite you into our kitchens where there’s always room for one more at the table. We hope you enjoy our Southern Thanksgiving menus.
