#ad. This is a sponsored post written on behalf of Zatarain’s. All opinions are my own. Skewered Marinated Shrimp with Cilantro Lime Rice is a quick and easy supper. Marinate skewered shrimp in a creamy lime sauce, grill, and serve with Zatarain’s Cilantro and Lime Rice for a new family favorite meal.
From Alabama to Florida, I’ve lived the vast majority of my life near the Gulf of Mexico. As such, seafood has always been a staple in our diet. Shrimp boils were as commonplace as the humidity of Deep South summers. They were a social event for my parents who’d invite friends over and cook several pounds of shrimp outdoors in a large, cast iron kettle. I’m inclined to boil shrimp as part of a Frogmore Stew. Needless to say, I’ve consumed my share of boiled shrimp in my lifetime. My boiled shrimp consumption, most likely, includes the share of several other folks, as well. We’re a family of shrimp eaters.
Given my affinity for shrimp, I was delighted to say yes when my friends at Zatarain’s asked me if I’d like to participate in their National Shrimp Day Campaign which is on May 10. Zatarain’s wants to showcase shrimp in easy to make and versatile recipes.
Their products offer a variety of ways to bring flavor and ease to mealtimes. They’ve been at it for over 125 years. I’d say they must be on to something. Their Crawfish, Shrimp, and Crab boil bags are frequent residents of my spice cabinet.
Zatarain’s is known for their seasonings and spices that add flavor to any dish, but they also have a variety of rice mixes and side dishes that can help make shrimp into a full meal. Check out this Slow-Cooker Chicken and Shrimp Jambalaya. Only 5 ingredients are needed for this awesome family meal.
Cilantro Lime Rice mix caught my attention right off the bat. I whipped up a quick marinade that contains fresh lime juice and lime zest, honey, and Zatarain’s Creole seasoning. Then I skewered peeled and deveined shrimp and marinated for 15 minutes before grilling. Zatarain’s Cilantro Lime Rice mix complements the shrimp making it a first-rate meal. I garnished with fresh cilantro and lime slices. Give this recipe a try and it will become a family favorite.
Rely on Zatarain’s to help you cook up a show-stopping meal on National Shrimp Day. Their seafood recipe index contains several shrimp recipes using their signature products. Zatarain’s makes mealtime interesting and easy on National Shrimp Day and every other day of the year. Look for their products on your grocery store shelf. Everybody needs a little New Orleans in their kitchen.
We can get enough shrimp around here so I plan to boil a few pounds of shrimp using Zatarain’s Crab and Shrimp boil on National Shrimp Day, also. If my husband’s lucky, I might even share with him.
