Roasted Balsamic and Honey Glazed Pearl Onions
Roasted Balsamic and Honey Glazed Pearl Onions
If you could only smell my kitchen right now. These little onions are going to be served along side my Herb Roasted Chicken tonight. I think they might be a “supasta”! To peel them, drop them in boilling water for about 2 minutes. Then dunk them in an icebath. Let them sit for about a minute and the skins will peel off. I just cut the little bulb end with a paring knife and sliped the skins off from that end. Use a 10 oz. package of Pearl Onions. After they are peeled, place them in a small casserole dish. Bake at 425 for about 45 minutes. I basted them a few times while they were roasting.
For the glaze:
1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, minced
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
3 tablespoons honey
1/3 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
Open the package and just dump the onions in boiling water.
Then they get an ice bath. Wonder if they like that?
Oh, drats! I forgot to take a picture of the onions in my cute tiny vintage Pyrex casserole dish. Anyway, this is what you get when you take them up.
