When it comes to cheese, the more pungent the better for me. That hasn’t always been the case. Either I acquired a taste or my taste buds dulled. All I know is that I love strong cheese now and it suits my taste with a most pleasant eating experience.
Stilton? Bring it on.
Roquefort? Yes, please.
Blue cheese? My favorite!
Along with my love for blue cheese comes a fondness for Buttermilk Blue Cheese Dressing. It packs a wallop of flavor into each tablespoonful. So, you can use it sparingly, if so inclined, and still have a mountain of taste. Buttermilk Blue Cheese Dressing is mighty fine.
Check out this video and you’ll see just how easy it is to make.
The quality of any recipe depends on the quality of each ingredient. Mayonnaise is a big part of this recipe. My preferred brand is Duke’s mayonnaise. It’s the only brand I buy because it delivers consistently good taste and quality.

If you’re unsure whether or not Duke’s is carried in your area, use this store finder and find you some Duke’s today. It’s really the best mayonnaise around. It all started in Eugenia Duke’s Greenville, South Carolina kitchen in the early 1900’s. It was excellent then and it’s still excellent today. Mrs. Duke wouldn’t have it any other way.
Y’all come see us!
Buttermilk Blue Cheese Dressing
Use as a dip for fresh vegetables or for a sauce for chicken wings. Buttermilk Blue Cheese Dressing has many uses in addition to salad dressing.

2 tablespoons sour cream
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
dash of Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 to 3/4 cup blue cheese crumbles
Add first 6 ingredients to a medium bowl. Whisk until well mixed. Add blue cheese crumbles and gently stir for a chunky texture. For a smoother texture, mash some or all of the crumbles.

Macaroni Salad is classic. Have you seen my version? It’s the way my grandmother made it.

Ah Duke’s!!! Sooo many ways to use Duke’s that it s very hard to choose which one. EVERYTHING…since I must choose.. Our absolute favorite is Duke’s Mayo Tomato Sandwiches using Duke’s only and island tomatoes on awesome Sunbeam white bread. Nothing better than that!
Jackie Garvin says
You know how to use your Duke’s, Joy!

Dukes is the ONLY mayo we have used for 15 years. I use to make homemade mayo. Then I found Dukes. I would bring it back from Tenn. on yearly visits, then they started carrying it, thankfully, in Houston. We took two jars with us to Maui last month and I always take two jars to Manhattan with us when we visit our daughter. We just will not eat any other. Homemade chicken salad and every other thing we make in our kitchen!
Jackie Garvin says
You are a serious Duke’s fan! 🙂

Jackie, this is the BEST dressing ever. I used Gorgonzola because I couldn’t find blue cheese this week. I cannot stop eating it!
Jackie Garvin says
Excellent! I added blue cheese to my grocery list this week so I can make up a batch. I hope you’re well.
Enjoy!

Duke’s is the only mayo I use! The very best way is on a good garden fresh ‘mater sandwich!!

Jackie Garvin says
Deborah,
Since I’m not a nutritionist, I don’t provide nutritional information. You might look for a program that will calculate the information you’re looking for.

I use it constantly, always keep buttermilk and blue cheese on hand for when it runs out.
