Grilled Sweet Corn
I can’t wait to get some more corn to grill. Lawd, have mercy! This was so good. The silks get charred and smokey which gives the corn a just a hint of a smokey flavor that makes it so good you almost swallow your tongue. I eat it straight up. No salt, butter or seasoning of any kind. You have GOT to try this. Really.
Soak the corn husks, silks and all in water for 30 minutes.
Carefully peel back the husks. Don’t go slap dab crazy and tear them off. You still need them. Remove the silks and gently scrub the kernels.
Replace the husks. Just do the best job you can with this. Their dresses never go back on exactly the way they came off. The kernels need to be protected because we are going on a hot grill.
Here we are on the hot grill. If you have a section of kernels that didn’t get covered real well with the husks, place that side down on the grill grate first. Grill the corn for a total of 12 minutes. Turn a quarter turn every three minutes.
This is what it looks like after twelve minutes. Tint it with aluminum foil or place in a brown paper sack for about 10 minutes.
This is what it look like when you set it down in front of me.
