Key Lime Pie. An iconic Florida dessert made from Key lime juice, sweetened condensed milk, egg yolks and lime zest in a graham cracker crust.

Key Lime Pie

Ingredients

  • yield: one nine inch pie
  • preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • An iconic Florida dessert. Key limes are yellow and smaller than ordinary grocery stores limes called Persian limes. Key line juice is a shelf stable product sold along side bottled lemon and lime juice.
  • 1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup Key lime juice
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 teaspoons lime zest
  • 1 9-inch graham cracker pie crust
  • whipped cream
  • lime slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Whisk together first 4 ingredients. Pour into piecrust.
  • Bake in a 350 degree preheated oven for 15 minutes or until filling is set.
  • Cool on wire rack for one hour. Chill for one hour before slicing.
  • Serve with whipped cream. Garnish with lime slices.
