Ginger Peach Sweet Ice Tea

Southern Sweet Ice Tea with added summer flavors of peach and ginger

  • Ginger Peach Sweet Ice Tea
  • yield: 2 quarts
  • 8 cups cold water divided
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger or 2 inches of fresh sliced ginger
  • 2 family size teabags
  • 1/2 to 1 cup sugar depending on taste preference and sweetness of peaches
  • 2 peaches pureed


  • Place 4 cups cold water, lemon and ginger in medium-sized saucepan and bring to boil. Remove from heat, add teabags, cover and let steep for 10 minutes. After the tea has steeped sufficiently, place sugar in pitcher and strain the hot tea mixture into the pitcher containing sugar. Stir well until sugar dissolves. Remove pits from peaches and place peaches in food processor with about 1/2 cup of the sweetened tea mixture. Puree. Strain and add peach mixture to pitcher along with remaining 4 cups of cold water. Stir well. Serve over ice.
