LOL I want to meet Katherine! She sounds so much like some of the women who worked for me in Knoxville. Salt of the earth women who could cook up a storm with next to nothing.

I'd like you granny's tater soup too.

Melinda,
I'm grateful you decided to become part of Syrup and Biscuits. I hope I never stop hearing that awesome old timey country dialect. To this day, I could listen to it endlessly. Thank you so much for your comment.

This soup looks awesome! I am a fairly new email subscriber to your blog and I must say that I am so grateful I decided to subscribe. You post about all of my favorite foods from my neck of the woods. I am a transplant here in upstate NY. I've lived here for two whole years. I am originally from Arkansas. My most favorite part of your blog, however, are the quotes and sayings from your friends/relatives. As I read each phonetically spelled one, I can hear MY Grandmother and Papa saying that because it sounds just like them. It reminds me so much of my simple, awesome childhood growing up in the south. Thank you so much for bringing me comfort in those words.
