I just dropped in a few.  Some floated and some sank. It just adds a little color to the glass.  Yes, the sugar does melt off.]]></description>

I wouldn&#039;t recommend trying to use these in garlands because the sugar coating is rather delicate and won&#039;t hold up to much handling.  I&#039;ve strung whole unsugared cranberries before and they do fine but don&#039;t last for very long. 

I purposely left part of the last batch of sugared cranberries unrefrigerated to test their staying power. They only lasted about 4 days.  Whole cranberries, in their natural state, will last close to two weeks unrefrigerated.
