My generation, the Baby Boomers, grew up in much simpler times. Not all homes had television. If you were lucky, you had one TV but only three channels. Parents didn’t worry so much about TV being a harmful or negative influence on their children. Captain Kangaroo read to us, Mr. Rogers taught us to be neighborly.
Dr. Suess introduced literature in a format that we’d never seen. We wanted to read his books.
All three were important cultural icons who were a positive influence. Who, if anyone, takes their place today?
